Purpose

Dose Digest publishes ordered rankings of U.S.-facing GLP-1 and medical weight-loss programs so readers can compare publicly observable Tier Criterion Weight What we measure Primary Trustpilot reviews 40% Star average × sample-size confidence (volume floors); company-wide vs program-specific noted Primary Google reviews 25% Google Business Profile / Maps star average × count when independently verified Secondary Clinician access model 10% Licensed clinician involvement, visit modality clarity, state coverage disclosure Secondary Medication path clarity 10% Brand-name vs compounded labeling honesty; formulary transparency; shortage/compounding policy literacy Secondary All-in cost transparency 10% Whether membership + medication + labs can be estimated before checkout; separate-fee disclosure Secondary Support & continuity 5% Coaching, messaging, refill/check-in cadence as described publicly

When Google (or Trustpilot) cannot be verified

If we cannot independently confirm a rating + count on the platform page (bot walls, missing Business Profile, ambiguous entity), we publish TBD, the URL attempted, and the retrieval date in SOURCES.md. We never invent numbers. For that cycle, the missing platform’s weight is redistributed proportionally across verified primary signals and secondary criteria, with a visible limitation note on the ranking page.

Eligibility

Programs must have a verifiable public website, U.S. telehealth or hybrid weight-loss / GLP-1 offering (or clear pathway), and enough public information to describe care model and pricing structure at a high level. Defunct or renamed brands are swapped (e.g., Sequence → WeightWatchers Clinic / WeightWatchers Med+ where the offering is no longer distinct).

What we do not score

Limitations

  1. Reviews measure service sentiment, not medical appropriateness or safety for any individual.
  2. Company-wide Trustpilot profiles (e.g., Noom, WeightWatchers, Hims, GoodRx) mix non–weight-loss products — we flag that.
  3. Google Business Profiles for digital-first brands are often thin or absent; Wave 1 Google fields are frequently TBD.
  4. Pricing changes without notice; figures in articles are snapshots, not quotes.
  5. Financial affiliations (disclosed) do not guarantee a rank position. Ops placement targets, if any, are internal only and must still fit published criteria.

  • Clinical trial efficacy of specific molecules (we cite class evidence educationally elsewhere)
  • Individual patient outcomes promised by marketing
  • “Endorsement” relationships or paid placement
  • App-store ratings as primary (optional context only)

Update cadence

  • Full review refresh: at least quarterly, or sooner after material FDA / formulary / brand-structure changes
  • Spot checks: Trustpilot / Google signals before major homepage republishes
  • Changelog: material rank moves noted in article update lines

Review heavy-weight rule: Trustpilot + Google together are 65% of the composite. Secondary criteria may reorder programs only when review signals are close, thin, or marked TBD — and editorial notes must say so.

Sample-size confidence (Trustpilot / Google)

  • High confidence: ≥5,000 reviews
  • Medium: 1,000–4,999
  • Low: 100–999
  • Insufficient: <100 → review sub-score capped; program may still list on non-review criteria with honest TBD fields

A 4.9 average on 30,000+ reviews outranks a 5.0 on 80 reviews under this model.

strong> signals: third-party reviews, clinician-access models, medication-path clarity, all-in cost transparency, and ongoing support. We are an educational publisher. We do not provide medical care, prescribe, or “book consults.”

List-length rule

Every Dose Digest ranking listicle publishes at least 10 ranked programs. Homepage modules may preview a subset and must link to the full ≥10 list.
